Boulding, Kenneth EKenneth E. Boulding

(1910-1993)

Kenneth E. Boulding was born in Liverpool, England, but educated partly in the US, of which he became a citizen in 1948. He has taught at Edinburgh. Colgate. Fisk, Iowa State, Ames. and the University of Michigan. He is now Professor of Economics and Director of the Program on General, Social and Economic Dynamics at the University of Colorado. For a long time Boulding has seen economics as a tool to achieve optimal efficiency in production and distribution, but believes that the present means of measuring economic welfare are at fault. Recently published work includes Disarmament and World Economic Inter dependence (1967) and The Economy of Love and Fear (1973).
